An Appeal to the Publishers

The Indian National Bibliography is an authoritative records of books published in different Indian languages. But due to non-compliance of the Delivery of Books Act (Public Libraries Act) 1954 by publishers, so many books could not be listed in the National Bibliography. Therefore, not only they are breaking the law which is a punishable offence but also lose a wonderful opportunity to advertise their books in the National Bibliography which is sold all over the world. Most of the librarians use Indian National Bibliography as a book selection tool.
We, therefore appeal to all publishers to deposit their books under Delivery of Books Act to the National Library, Kolkata – 700 027. This will be your contribution to build up the cultural heritage of the nation.
