On the initiation of Govt. of India with the encouragement of the Ministry of Culture, the Central Reference Library, Kolkata is actively participating in the development of the North Eastern Region. As part of this activity, the CRL regularly organize training programs Workshops and Seminars for Library professionals of the North Eastern region.
A national webinar on “COVID 19 Pandemic : Impact and Strategies for Library services in North East India (Panel discussion)” has been organized by Central Reference Library in association with the Department of Library and Information Science, Gauhati University and Assam College Librarian’s Association (ACLA) on July 4 on Zoom platform. More than 700 participants from different corners of India, as well as experts from the field of Library Science took part in the event. The seminar was conducted to assess the impact of the library services in the Northeast region during pandemic and planning the strategies to make the library services more effective to reach the unreached.
